The Thrill of the Espadrille

I have never been a BIG fan of espadrilles, however until now with some of the newest styles I couldn't help but have a shoeicide. This spring some of my favorite designers have reinvented your average espadrille into something new. The simple detail goes well with the minimalist look. Here are some of my favs...and I saved my fav for last!

Cut into Spring

This Spring it's all about easy ready to wear items- let your clothes, shoes, accessories all speak for themselves. A new leading trend of cutout leather shoes is taking over. The intricate detail of patterned cutouts provides a airy shoe perfect for warmer weather. The light-weight leather gives flexibility whether it be a peep toe platform sandal, a flat boot or a simple sandal. Here are some of my favs ...

Fall Fashion

So my FAVORITE season is here…FALL! It will be full of utilitarian looks, military touches, tailored menswear and so much more. This fall is made out of ACCESSORIES: jewelry, bangs and shoes. You can do some much with your outfit depending on how you play off your accessories. The fall color palette will have you excited with rich camel and crème naturals. Just because its fall doesn’t mean you can’t play with citrus brights of sunburst yellow, oxford reds, and deep purples. This season is based off of TRUE CLASSICS: MINIMALISM.

Fur

Fur has swiped the runways and soon finding its way into your closet.  The reason why I love this trend so much because it comes in so many different shapes and forms: ultra-plush fur peacoat, fur vest and fur accessories of a cape, scarf or even a hat.  You can find quality and a variety of faux furs any and everywhere; when you least expect it.

Menswear

Beautifully tailored details of sharp edges, deep creases, double breast all describes menswear. Menswear comes in so many different styles that make any women just as sexy if she were in her normal pencil skirt or suit.

Chunky Knit Sweaters

Nothing feels cozier during cool days and breezy nights than a chunky knit sweater. This makes a perfect option for laying. No matter the style of the cardigan, dress it up or down; it really goes with everything. You can pair it with not just your basic jeans but classic trousers or a belted skirt.

Camel Coat

Ok in the past I’ve never been a fan of the camel coat but now there are so many different variations I had no choice but to only fall in love. This is a fall must have for all women. I think the one thing I absolutely love about the camel coat is because it shifts from day-to-night.

Color

Forget about your LBD- You cannot be afraid of color this season. All women need a great dress that will make a sensational entrance. Details are everything and can take a simple dress to the next level. Look for ruching, plunging back lines, pleats, ruffles- don’t think just because you’re wearing you’re a bold colored dress it has to be simple. And if so play it off with accessories- skinny belt or patterned hosiery.

Just Thoughts

Ok, so I know I've haven't been posting like I normally do. To say the least, life got in the way - everything and everyone was put on hold. Coming back, I must say I have a brand new inspiration and wish to share it with whomever comes across my blog. My friends always say, "Why don't you publicize your blog?!" ... honestly, I do this for my personal enjoyment; I could care less if no one read my blog, my thoughts or my feelings -this is just something that makes me happy. I'm sure I'll be talking to you all soon... until the next blog!!!

Why are there so many successful single women?

How in the hell did we get like this, there's so many wonderful, beautiful, successful women that are single. Have women fell victim to the out culture stereotypes: the career driven, dream- fulfilled and ambitious women that has enough passion to stop world hungry.

There are so many women out there similar to The Devil Wears Prada, Andrea Sachs; a young girl who moves to New York to chase her dreams. Her professional adventure was like living in hell but she would do anything just to pursue her dreams of someday becoming a journalist. And well she came into her journey with a committed boyfriend and ended up single with a committed career.

Instead of investing in a future with someone, women are putting that time towards their careers. Women are falling in love with their careers, especially now that we live in a day and age where we can do everything for ourselves. We have become in love with that phrase- I'm happy being single. Yes, it does have it ups but when it's all said and done and you come home from your career. Who do you have to share it with?

When it comes to marriages, those numbers are decreasing everyday in America. Statistics show that simply women (specifically career girls) are not getting married. It's the less-educated, simple job women who are filling the marriage gap.

It seems if a woman has the full package: brains, beauty, goal-oriented, career and the list could go on; she would in fact be in a relationship. However, for some odd reason one too many believe women need to lower their standards. In the most recent years, men's statuses are lower with a lack of money, power and influence. There is a role reversal in this generation of time. This makes it very difficult for these career girls to find a partner.

So what's a girl to do? Well, never lower your standards but always evaluate them. As, you get older; your needs and realistic expectations change. Make sure you're able to recognize the relevant qualities of man when he comes your way; the common values and goals, thoughtfulness, intelligence, respect and a mutual attraction.
